Amadeus Consulting, a Boulder-based custom software development company, announced today that it has been officially named as a 2011 Colorado Companies to Watch. Colorado Companies to Watch, an awards program honoring companies headquartered in the state of Colorado, is presented by M3 Insurance and hosted by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. 2011 marks the second consecutive year that Amadeus Consulting has been nominated for the award, and the first year as an award winner.
The 2011 Colorado Companies to Watch Award acknowledges second-stage companies that are developing valuable products and services, creating quality jobs, enriching communities, and creating new industries throughout the state. Second-stage companies are past the start-up stage but not yet past maturity. Additionally, companies selected must be privately held, employ six to 99 workers, generate $750,000 to $50 million in sales or a similar range of working capital and be headquartered in Colorado.
The process to be nominated for the Colorado Companies to Watch is quite arduous, the company must first be nominated (internally or externally) and once nominated, submit to two rounds of information gathering. The first round consists of demographics about the company: growth, size, etc. The second round companies are asked what sets them apart: how they are passionate, how they market themselves, what are the critical points in their history. Once the submission process is complete, a committee selects the final recipients of the award.
In years past, the winners have exemplified a broad range of economic sectors and regions of our great state. They represent some of the state's biggest sectors, such as aerospace and biotechnology, and growing upstarts like new energy and sustainable products, and unheralded traditional sectors like manufacturing and agriculture. Last year's 50 winners produce a diverse collection of products and services: craft beer, medicine, information technology, natural foods, pet products, camping equipment, biofuels, military combat simulations, online learning systems.
Amadeus Consulting's CEO, Lisa Calkins, is ecstatic to be named a Colorado Company to Watch. Calkins attributes the success and recognition to the company's commitment to excellence and innovation, stating: "A major contributor to our success is our commitment to the philosophy that 'Everything is Possible' which helps the company maintain an entrepreneurial feel by taking on projects no one believes can be done."
This past year, Amadeus Consulting was on the cutting edge of technological innovation, creating solutions for companies using the most current technology platforms available for mobile application development such as iPhoneTM, iPadTM, AndroidTM, and BlackBerry®. Exciting mobile application development projects over the past year include: iGuardian Teen, LobbyMe and Salk International's Airport Guide. Amadeus Consulting is also proud of its continued engagement with the successful bike-sharing application B-Cycle. Amadeus Consulting continues to support and monitor performance of the enterprise-level kiosk portals it developed in 2010.
