Amadeus Consulting, a leading custom software development company, today announced its move to a new office and software development facility in Boulder. The construction and move will be completed on October 1. Amadeus has grown to 30 fulltime employees, up from 15 in 2005 and plans to continue hiring additional software professionals in 2007.
The move represents a milestone for Amadeus, which has experienced rapid growth in its core business of project-based custom software development. Amadeus provides technology solutions to clients across a broad range of industries including homeland security, medical, e-commerce, consumer services, commercial software and manufacturing. The new 11,000 square-foot facility has been engineered for eight development teams who work on multiple client projects in open workspaces.
Founded in 1994 by Lisa Calkins and John Basso, Amadeus thrived in the late 1990s by helping build local, venture-backed Internet companies such as PlanetOutdoors.com, as well as serving major accounts including Intel and Motorola. The company persevered through the technology downturn by adhering to a distinctive model of creating leading-edge custom software solutions designed to achieve specific business goals. Today, Amadeus is benefiting from a successful marketing strategy and advanced software development practices that produce positive business results for its clients.
"Our expansion is due to the excellent work of our outstanding development team which has produced hundreds of successful projects for our clients and emerged as one of the strongest software consultancies in the country," said Lisa Calkins, Amadeus president. "We know our clients recognize the value we bring to their critical projects, because of our many positive, long-term relationships. And we are delighted to be staying in Boulder, a great place to build a technology business."
On top of a growing base of long-standing clients, Amadeus has won many new contracts in the past year for major software development projects. These include:
- An emergency preparedness and response management system for TotalSecurity.US, a world leader in homeland security consulting and anti-terrorism training, successfully deployed for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
- A high-volume e-commerce platform for a major retailer of licensed sports merchandise, supporting $25M in sales through 11 distinct websites
- A web-based enterprise platform for the Medical Group Management Association replacing their traditional, paper-based survey and reporting system
- A point-of-sale order processing system used at tradeshows, developed jointly with Data Connect Corporation
- A next-generation electronic medical record system for surgical centers marketed by QualVal, and designed for the Tablet PC
In addition, Amadeus works regularly with premier local companies including Spyder Active Sports, Alpine Research Optics, The Booth Company, Outdoor Prolink, The Access Fund and BrightStores.
