The White House recently released a job forecast for 2010 that predicted "steady but moderate" growth for the rest of the year, but for one Colorado company, growth is already speeding ahead.
Amadeus Consulting, a custom software development company based in Boulder, has seen a 15 percent growth in one month alone and anticipates 27 percent growth this quarter.
"It is not just optimism," said Jay Millard, Vice President of Business Development at Amadeus Consulting, "we are already experiencing a strong increase in market demand for our services from new and existing clients alike. To continue our commitment to exceptional service to our clients, we have already expanded our team by seven over the last month, and we will expand the team by five more in the next month." The positive growth trend is a great sign that Amadeus Consulting is a leader in the marketplace in successfully developing out of this recent downturn.
Amadeus Consulting is a custom software development company that works with local and national clients to create software solutions, including everything from Windows development to Smart Phone platforms.
"Part of our success is that we have been very agile in our recruiting and how we look at positions," said Anna Luthens, Human Resource Director at Amadeus Consulting. "We screen applicants based on their traditional computer science skills, such as programming in .NET or C#, but we also look at what they are best at and what they enjoy. We really want this to be mutually beneficial, much more than just a traditional job, and our dynamic hiring process reflects that."
Amadeus Consulting also attributes its success to new innovations in technology. "Apple®, and especially iPhone™ app development, has kept us really busy recently," said Lisa Calkins, CEO of Amadeus Consulting. "New technology always brings in a lot of new ideas, but innovation happens all the time as businesses look for ways to better connect with customers, increase efficiency, or create a new product line or revenue stream."
"People are really excited about technology right now - everything from apps to multitouch, not to mention traditional platforms like Microsoft Windows and interactive web development," Millard said. "And more importantly, the recovering economy means that people are able to invest in something new."
One example is Suzy Murphy, a renowned author and teacher of needlepoint. Despite having written six books on needlepoint stitches, she wanted to expand her audience by hiring Amadeus Consulting to create an iPhone application that would provide stitch tips and images so that people could use it on the go.
"Amadeus Consulting made the process of turning my book into an iPhone app a truly enjoyable experience," Murphy said. "The team took the time to listen to my needs and in turn produced an exemplary product. I am very pleased with the outcome and how well it has been received on the App Store."
Amadeus Consulting has seen similar interest from hundreds of potential clients over the last few months.
"Technology is really booming right now," Millard said. "Not just in Colorado, but all across the US. Now is the time to invest, and our clients are already seeing results."
