Amadeus Consulting, a
custom software development company, launched a new
green blog site through its
sustainability and community awareness program called Business Leaders in Action for Sustainability Today (BLAST!).
Amadeus Consulting chief information officer John Basso founded the BLAST! program in 2009 to help companies take easy-to-implement steps to improve their sustainability efforts. Amadeus Consulting developed and launched the BLAST! web portal to promote the concept.
Amadeus Consulting partnered with Boulder, Colorado-based nonprofit recycling facility Eco-Cycle to launch the sustainability blog, focused on encouraging companies to "green" their office environments.
"At our corporate headquarters, we've taken steps to divert 90 percent of our office waste from landfills, implemented energy-conserving practices and other sustainability measures," said Amadeus Consulting chief information officer John Basso. "Sustainability is part of our corporate culture. Because we're so passionate about it, we want to show other companies how easy it is to put green practices into place at their own offices."
Along with John Basso, the BLAST! portal hosts blog posts written by other distinguished Boulder area leaders and business owners including Eric Lombardi, Executive Director of Eco-Cycle; Rob Harsh, Senior EH&S Manager of Amgen Inc., Dan King, Owner of The Boulder Outlook Hotel; Jade Sevelow-Lee, Green Team Leader at Whole Foods; and Lauren Heising, RD, Coordinator for Sustainable Dining Housing & Dining Services at CU. The blog topics range from environmentally focused legislative issues and recycling technology components to trash management and offsetting carbon footprints.
