The Boy Scouts and Venturers Troop 65 visited custom software development company Amadeus Consulting on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Troop 65 Scoutmaster Roosevelt Wright and the group, dubbed the "time travelers," as recognized by Scouting Magazine, are taking the journey to help scouts better understand how their academic curriculum applies to future careers.
The visit from Monroe to Boulder, Colorado serves as an introduction into the technology field. Wright selected Amadeus Consulting because of its leading expertise in mobile application development; something scout leader Wright is very familiar with. He is the creator of sermonideas.com, and hired Amadeus Consulting to develop his "Soul Food" iPhone and iPad applications that allow users to utilize existing sermon data to create original sermons, on the go.

"This is a great opportunity for the Scouts to see how a leading technology company like Amadeus Consulting functions," said Wright. "This trip will help the organization continue to live out its mission by investing in the future of technologists."
Each year the group visits different regions of the country in order to learn more about their nation's history while serving an educational purpose. However, the annual summer trip program is not a small investment. The Scouts raised a significant amount of money by organizing and performing an African American historical drama; a production that has been in practice for more than 23 years.
The Boy Scout troop's visit was catered by Naked Pizza in Boulder, who donated lunch.
