Amadeus Consulting, a Boulder headquartered custom software development firm, was awarded 1
st place honors for its on-going effort toward becoming a zero-waste office. Amadeus Consulting captured the 'Office-based Businesses or Retail' category of the 'Going for Zero Waste...or Darn Near!' award. The award was presented based on the commitment of the company to go beyond recycling and compost as much as possible.
Other noteworthy nominees included Friends of Jared Polis and La Sportiva. Fittingly, the awards were announced on April 22nd to continue with the theme of progress on Earth Day. "Together, we can make a positive impact on the environment. Becoming a 'green' workplace requires a strong commitment to sustainability, but the result is a better, cleaner and greener workplace," said John Basso, Amadeus Consulting COO and BLAST! (Business Leaders in Action for Sustainability Today) Executive Director. "We are honored to be recognized with this award for our efforts toward sustainability and we will continue our cause to help the environment."
Eco-Cycle's business partners, from small locally-owned shops to a four-star hotel and a nationally recognized corporation, demonstrate Zero Waste in action. These leaders utilize Eco-Cycle's Zero Waste Services and work to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost all of their waste. They purchase green products for Zero Waste and educate their employees and customers on Zero Waste habits. A panel of community judges chose the winners from a list of nominations submitted by the community and participating businesses.
Eco-Cycle believes that it is quite an achievement to reach Zero-Waste and hopes to spread the commitment throughout the community and beyond with these awards and local programs.
Amadeus Consulting is dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. As the company grows, so does its passion for sustainability, the environment and its support for green endeavors.
