Lisa Calkins, President and CEO of Amadeus Consulting, a custom software development company, was named a finalist in the category Best Executive-Service Business-up to 100 Employees-All Other Industries in the 6th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 13. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the USA and several other countries are expected to attend. The presentations will be broadcast live on radio in the USA by the Business TalkRadio Network.
More than 1,100 entries were submitted this year for consideration in 54 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, and Best Community Involvement Program.
"It's a wonderful feeling to be honored as a finalist for the prestigious Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Being a female CEO in the male-dominated custom software programming industry, I believe it is important to reach out to other women to share the knowledge I've gained through the years as a business leader, as well as offer my support," Ms. Calkins said of being a finalist.
In addition to her business efforts, Calkins is honored for her dedication as a leader and respected mentor to many colleagues and associates. She is a past president of the Colorado Federation of Business and Professional Women, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to helping women achieve economic self-sufficiency by advancing careers, building businesses and advocating workplace equity. Lisa Calkins also served two terms as president of the Boulder BPW, one of largest local business organizations in the country.
Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the finalists during final judging.
