Lisa Calkins, CEO of Amadeus Consulting, was pleased to be invited to speak at the DaVinci Institute's Inventor Boot Camp this past weekend. Held at the Wolfe Law Building on the University of Colorado's main campus, the event focused on giving startups the key strategies to learn how to perform in any market.Having successfully started Amadeus Consulting with business partner John Basso, Calkins was well qualified to speak about having a business model for inventions. Her presentation not only covered the tactical and specifics of a business model, but also the non-tangible aspects of starting a business including: seeing and believing in your invention and sharing it with the community.
"My goal was to inspire enthusiasm and some learning so the inventors can create successful businesses to contribute to our community," Ms. Calkins said of the opportunity. In fact, much of her presentation covered elements from Amadeus Consulting's own Guiding Principles, used every day at the company.
Started by Thomas Frye, formerly one of IBM's visionaries, The DaVinci Institute is a non-profit think-tank devoted to the idea of futuristic thought, which attracts both a national and international following to its seminars, classes and events.
