The Business Challenge

Pastor Roosevelt Wright started Sermon Ideas, a website based off of his own vast collection of sermons, books and plays he has written over the past 25 years. He currently serves as the pastor of the New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana and has provided his material to ministers around the nation as a baseline for their own services. Pastor Wright offers his extensive collection to other pastors and motivational speakers to get ideas from, and plan their own speeches and sermons.

Pastor Wright came to Amadeus Consulting to take his Sermon Ideas to mobile applications. In a technology partner, he was looking for a US-based company with whom he could build a relationship and whose quality was proven many times over. He found a good fit in our mobile application development team at Amadeus Consulting because he felt we could deliver 'the Cadillac of iPhoneTM apps,' and take Sermon Ideas to the next level.

Because so many pastors are incredibly busy and often on-the-go, Pastor Wright wanted to be able to bring his sermons and devotionals to a mobile platform. He wanted to give his fellow pastors access to all parts of his library of sermons so that they could plan their sermons from opening, to life points, to expositions all the way to closings anytime or anywhere.

The Solution

Initially, Pastor Wright wanted to start the development for the iPhone and iPadTM, but felt bringing it to multiple brands of Smartphones was the best option to be multi-platform. For Pastor Wright, Amadeus Consulting created the custom iPhone app, custom iPad application, and custom AndroidTM application SoulFood Lite and SoulFood Pro, based on his library of sermons and daily devotionals.

Amadeus Consulting's mobile application development team leveraged their knowledge of design for both devices to make sure they work seamlessly between different hardware. The application features alphabetized directories of sermons based on almost any event, from birthdays and holidays to parts of the bible. Our internal creative services team also created a slick custom logo and animation for SoulFood's splash screen.

SoulFood Lite features a subscription to Pastor Wright's daily devotionals, while SoulFood Pro gives users complete access to all of the sermons available on Sermon Ideas, as well as daily devotionals. Both of these applications bring well-crafted and well thought out sermons and to pastors and motivational speakers.
