Brief Summary
Challenge:

Tundra Specialties had a limited Web presence. This existing Web site was built from an out-of-the box template which prohibited easy design and restricted feature customization. In addition to a more feature rich Web presence, Tundra Specialties required the new e-commerce platform to be integrated with its pre-existing systems.

Solution:

Amadeus Consulting developed a custom e-commerce Web site that addressed all of Tundra's challenges and complex requirements. Orders placed on the new eTundra.com Web site are simultaneously synchronized with Tundra's existing inventory system and payment processor. This new and improved Web site provides customized pages tailored to each of Tundra's customers upon login.

This custom software solution is featured on the Microsoft Solution Site.

The Business Challenge

In 1993, Tundra Specialties opened their doors with 2 employees, a few hundred restaurant equipment parts, a 16 page flyer, and a strong set of values. Today, Tundra Specialties is an international distributor of more than 10,000 stocked products and a leader in the restaurant industry. They are located in Boulder, Colorado, and provide restaurant equipment parts, supplies, and restaurant equipment to individual restaurants, restaurant chains and restaurant service companies.

Prior to partnering with Amadeus Consulting, Tundra Specialties had a limited Web presence. This existing Web site was built from an out-of-the box template which prohibited easy design and restricted feature customization. In addition to a more feature rich Web presence, Tundra Specialties required the new e-commerce platform to be integrated with its pre-existing systems.

Tundra Specialties came to Amadeus Consulting because of our skill in working with existing systems, our extensive experience in custom Web site architecture, and our understanding of business solutions. Tundra Specialties asked for a brand new Web site that still felt familiar to existing customers but incorporated a new look and new features. The secure login feature allowed Tundra's customers to experience a personal Web site focused on their needs. Customers would have access to prices and inventory based on their business agreements with Tundra. The new Web application was required to integrate with Tundra's existing inventory system - approximately fifteen years old - and its existing payment processor. This site required complex integration, a high level of security, customer login and personalization and the ability for customers to apply for online financing.
